Where to begin
- Wooden Lute: the beginner walkthrough reports that Leo gives it to you in the opening quest.
- Tamer’s Guitar: reported price 100 Chimes in Songkeeper’s Grove. The tutorial leads toward the purchase.
- Adventurer’s Tambourine: BloxInformer lists it as a Grove purchase for 750 Chimes.
Getting these items and equipping them are separate steps. In the Equipment Bag walkthrough, the Instruments tab shows which item is equipped. Use the item name in the purchase prompt to make sure you are buying the upgrade you intended.

The lute and guitar rows agree across AllThingsHow’s comparison and BloxInformer. The tambourine row is reported by BloxInformer. Its Precision is lower than the guitar's, while the other displayed values are higher; price alone does not make every stat an upgrade.
A printed Luck bonus is not a measured probability of catching a named creature. These numbers also do not establish Chimes per hour or a universal “best instrument.”
Two details need an in-game check
Tamer’s Guitar Resonance
Conflicting reports: BloxInformer gives the guitar Resonance II; AllThingsHow’s item-card comparison gives it I. We leave the value unresolved. Check the current card rather than making a purchase on the assumption that it changes your Resonance tier.
The guitar vendor’s name
AllThingsHow’s beginner article says Julian, while its progression article says Jane. Follow the current quest marker and the item offered on screen. We have not independently tested which label is current.
Make the next purchase fit your session
Write down the price currently shown in the shop and your current balance. Use the Chimes calculator with your own income, spending and session duration to estimate the remaining time.
If you compare equipment over two sessions, keep the area and measurement method consistent and record interruptions. A short good run does not establish a lasting advantage. The beginner guide covers the opening loop; the creature reference helps identify early catches.
